VACANCY – GRADUATE SYSTEM ENGINEER

Graduate System Engineer 2 year Programme based in West Cumbria

Basic Salary in year 1 £28,000 rising to £30,000 in year 2

33 days annual leave inc. bank holidays and workplace pension.

Cumbria O&M Services (COMS) are a successful operations, maintenance and engineering services provider to the nuclear industry and have experienced rapid growth year on year since the company formation in 2014.  We are now looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic engineering graduate to join our expanding team of professional engineers.

As a graduate System Engineer you will be supporting a team of experienced professional engineers who holistically manage engineering systems on behalf of our various clients.  The holistic approach covers all aspects of a given system including electrical, mechanical, controls, civils etc. so you will gain extensive experience across all disciplines.

The role will involve:

·System health monitoring and report development (surveillance of system performance data)

·Configuration management

·Asset management and ageing mechanisms (categorisation, establish stage of life, condition assessment, condition confidence levels, understanding of ageing mechanisms, mitigation strategies).

·Maintaining system basis of design

·Develop maintenance, spares and obsolescence strategies.

·Creation and maintenance of system files

·Safety case support

You will be based in our new offices in Westlakes Science Park, but will spend much of your time in various West Cumbria locations which will include our partner locations and other COMS teams including our Pre-Operations Team, O&M Delivery Team and Training Team to ensure you have a well rounded development programme.  During this time you will mentored by our Principal Engineer and will receive much support on route to becoming an established System Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have:

·A 2:1 Bachelors degree preferred in an engineering discipline.

·Excellent communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders

·The ability to maintain a holistic view and understanding of the assigned system(s)

·Demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills.

·A strong desire to learn and progress.
